Removals Germany Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Removals Germany has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, workers, contractors, and suppliers that provide goods or services to Removals Germany.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Approach
Removals Germany is committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. This commitment is central to our values and underpins our relationships with employees, customers, partners, and suppliers.
We expect all individuals and organisations working with or on behalf of Removals Germany to share this commitment and to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy will be treated seriously and may result in corrective measures, including the termination of business relationships where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removals Germany operates within the removals and logistics sector in Germany and across international routes. Our activities involve the transportation, packing, storage, and handling of household and commercial goods. Our supply chains include, among others, subcontracted transport providers, storage facilities, packaging material suppliers, equipment and vehicle suppliers, and various professional service providers.
We recognise that elements of our supply chains may operate in sectors or regions where there is a heightened risk of labour exploitation. As such, we are committed to identifying, assessing, and mitigating those risks through a structured and ongoing process.
Policies and Governance
Our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery is integrated into our internal policies and procedures. These include codes of conduct for employees and suppliers, ethical procurement principles, and health and safety standards. Senior management is responsible for overseeing the effectiveness of these measures and ensuring that modern slavery considerations are embedded in business decisions.
Employees and managers receive guidance on recognising potential indicators of exploitation, such as restriction of movement, withholding of documents, or signs of coercion, and on the steps required to report any concerns immediately.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Removals Germany expects its suppliers and business partners to comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. As part of our due diligence, we assess new suppliers for ethical and compliance risks, including the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking.
We conduct periodic supplier audits, which may include document reviews, on-site visits, and discussions with management and workers. These audits are designed to verify working conditions, recruitment practices, wage and hour records, and the presence of effective grievance mechanisms. Where non-compliance or risk indicators are identified, we work with suppliers to develop corrective action plans and monitor their implementation. Persistent or serious violations may lead to the suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Removals Germany encourages a culture of openness and responsibility. Any employee, contractor, or third party who has concerns about possible modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chains is urged to raise those concerns without delay.
Concerns can be reported to line managers, senior management, or via our established internal reporting channels. Reports may be made confidentially, and, where permitted by law, anonymously. We do not tolerate retaliation in any form against individuals who raise concerns in good faith or who assist in an investigation.
All reports will be investigated promptly and thoroughly. Where allegations are substantiated, Removals Germany will take appropriate remedial action, which may include involving law enforcement or other competent authorities.
Training and Awareness
We aim to ensure that relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, logistics coordination, human resources, and supplier management, are aware of the risks associated with modern slavery and human trafficking. Training and guidance materials are provided to help them recognise warning signs, understand our policies, and respond appropriately to potential issues.
We also encourage key suppliers to promote awareness of modern slavery risks within their own organisations and to cascade high labour standards throughout their own supply chains.
Monitoring, Measurement, and Annual Review
Removals Germany is committed to continuous improvement in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. We monitor the effectiveness of our actions through various measures, including the number and outcomes of supplier audits, the nature and volume of reported concerns, and feedback from employees and partners.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. As part of this review, we consider emerging risks, changes in our business activities, and lessons learned from investigations and audits. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, and training to strengthen our approach.
This statement has been approved by the management of Removals Germany and reflects our ongoing commitment to the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations and supply chains.
